Dear Student,
This study sheet is to help you see what salvation is. It is indeed a step of faith. We trust that you will carefully consider this important step.
Please read John 1:12 carefully. But as many as received Him, to them gave He the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: Take a pen and underline the words “RECEIVED” and “BELIEVE” As you have studied your lessons, you have read what God has said in His Word. These two words are the key to knowing that you have salvation. To “believe” is to accept what the Word of God says to be true. In the following questions, answer YES if you believe what is said in each question:
1. Do you believe that the Bible is God’s Holy Word? 2 Timothy 3:16 ________
2. Do you believe that you are a sinner, as the Word says? Romans 3:23 ________
3. Do you believe that Jesus died to save sinners? 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4 ________
4. Do you believe that God’s invitation to “whosoever” means you? John 3:16 ________
5. Do you believe that Jesus is the only way to Heaven? John 14:6 ________
6. Do you believe that you will go to hell if you reject Christ? Revelation 20:15 ________
7. Do you believe that Jesus will save you if you ask Him to? John 1:12 ________
Now if you have answered each question with a “YES” then you have taken the first step. Now read again John 1:12; But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: You are ready for the next step- RECEIVE Him as your own Savior. This word “RECEIVE” means to “take hold of” or accept what is offered. To “receive” means that you now make them your very own and take the Lord Jesus to be your very own Savior. God is offering you the free gift of eternal life if you receive His Son as your Savior. I’m asking you, if you have never taken that step, will you do it right now? Pray in your heart, “Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and that the Lord Jesus paid for my sins with His own blood. Right now, I take the gift of eternal life You are offering me because of Jesus. I want Him to be my Savior. In Jesus name, Amen.” Now you can confess Him by writing in your name in the space below with the day and month that you prayed this prayer. We want to celebrate with you.
MY CONFESSION OF FAITH
I, ___________________, have indicated by my answers to the above questions that I believe that Jesus died for my sins. Now, on this the ________(day) of _____________(month) of ___________ (year) I have received the Lord Jesus Christ as my very own Savior as God has instructed me to do in John 1:12. I am taking this step by faith and will look to Jesus to help me live the Christian life. I will take time to read my Bible and pray to Him each day. When I sin, I will confess it as God’s Word tells me to in 1 John 1:9. I will share my faith with others.
Signed,
Your teacher
